Engine Builder Oil Testing Form

Recommended Testing Procedure:
Since not all synthetic oils mix well with other synthetic oils, it is very important that you don't go directly from one brand of synthetic oil to another brand syntheic oil without flushing the system inbetween with a petroleum based oil.

In over 8 years of doing testing, we've found this is the only way to produce accurate and repeatable results:

1. We recommend getting a base line using your current oil.
2. Drain that oil and refill the system with the Joe Gibbs Driven BR oil and install a new oil filter.
3. Pre-heat the Joe Gibbs Driven BR oil to operating temp, prime the oiling system and start the engine.
4. Idle the engine for 10 to 15 minutes with the BR in the engine.
5. After that, drain the Joe Gibbs Driven BR out of the engine and fill the system with the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil you wish to test.
6. Pre-heat the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil to operating temp, prime the oiling system and start the engine.
7. Idle the engine for 10 minutes before making any pulls.
8. Make at least 3 pulls after the 10 minute run-in period.

While time consuming, this procedure yeilds accurate results because it elimates the additive carry over and reduces the possibility of additive clash.
